Bloggers enjoy this final weekend of summer!

Take time for you!

do something nice.

remember just because summer is over does not mean all your fun has to be over, too!

Take a few minutes everyday and do something nice for yourself.

i always look on Labour Day as a second New Year. it is a chance to start again and choose new goals.

All the best, next week.

Looking forward to TRAP and blogging with you.

Summer Jobs

I haven't been posting recently because i finished all the books from the library, and i haven't had a chance to go back yet. But another reason is that i've been helping my friend paint her garage door. Was anybody else working this summer? Last summer, i did babysitting, and delivered the Economist and Sun, but this year, i've really just been sitting back and relaxing. Oh, and does anybody else enjoy painting (house stuff)? Most people are shocked when they find out that i have helped my dad paint my house, and my grandma's house.

Crunch Time

great book by Mariah Fredericks. it is about 4 students and how they deal with the pressure of taking the SATS before and after the test (and everything in between). Through this course, they developed a bond of friendship and even ditched the SAT prep course and started their own study group. but they soon discovered that someone cheated on the test...who was it? a.-Daisy b.-Leo c.-Jane or d.-Max.
a very interesting book, told from the view of the 4 main characters ( a very unique writing technique, kept me reading until the end.) =)

Final Prizes - TRAP coming next week

Mina, was our final prize winner for most comments. Mina, Lana brought your prize to Milliken, tonight. Call again before you go and ask where the prize is being kept because she does not always work.

Joyce was the random prize winner. Her name was drawn out of all the names for people who posted. Joyce can you contact me so I can send your prize to the branch closest to your home. This was a smaller prize than the grand prize.

The family and children's prize are smaller because there was less work than some of the challenges. Both of these were draws from all the comments posted on these topics.
The family vacation winner was

The children's book winner was Isabelle. Could you contact me so I can also get your prize to you?

I will try and get your prize to your branch as quick as i can.

Just my Luck

In this book a very lucky girl has everything. Dedication and talent are hardly the reson she prospers. On the other hand, a guy is very unlucky and no matter how hard he tries he cant sell his records or earn a living. When they meet on the dancefloor at a party, their luck changes and the girl is determined to have it switched back.

Cookies

I got a hamster named cookies, and it reminded me of a book i read a while ago. Taking care of something smaller than you is a big responsibility and needs persistence and dedication. It also reminds me of a childrens TV show i used to watch called Hamtaro (i think). My sister is deathly afraid of my hamster!! But it is sooooo cute

Brin it on- All or Nothing

In this book, Britteny, struggels as she has to let go of her position as head cheerleader and move to another school. Her new school is mostly filled with African American people who are rascist to her skin being fair. She dearly misses her old school, but in the end shee realizes that all she missed was being the leader. When both schools enter a cheering contest sponsered by the singer Rhiana, they are determined to win useing their new style of Crumping.

Poseidon

I saw this really cool and Greaphic movie yesterday. It was called Poseidon. Thsi cruise ship is hit by a rogue wave ( they are unexpected and cannot be avoided) , and the entire ship capsisez (flips over). The ballromm is like and air bubble which cannot be floodded, but a group of people set out to climb to the top (bottom) of the boat and escape, for they have the knowledge to know that the boat was not built to keep in air and water out while upside down. Every one in the bubble died, but a few from the group managed to make it out alive.

Comment

I read this survey on the internet about what kids are most excited to return to school for, and they said to see their friends. That isnt hard to believe, but the learning option wasnt far behind.

Lion Boy

This book is amazing x 100. Charlie is not an ordinary boy, when he was a baby his blood migeled with that of a tiger in the rainforest. From that time, he has been able to speak and understand the language of all feliones. His parents are scientist, and when they are kidnapped by their neighbor to reveal their new discovery, Charlie ets out to rescue them. He stows away on a circus boat and earns a job their to maintain his place on the chip. During his job, he befirends the circus liones, and they all plan to escape together once they finish their show in Paris. Their neighbor, Rafi, is on the chase for Charlie, but with the lions on his side, he feels as if he can over power The slimey Git, (his nickname for Rafi). The communication he gets from cats helped him alot throughout the journey, bu his biggest aid was the King of Bugaria, whom he met on the train he stowed away on. The king is loyal and understanding enough for Charlie to tell his basic story, (leaving out the part that he can talk cat, because most humans are not accustomed to that talent) and the King plans to provide transporation and accomodation for their journey. The book ended right here, and is to be continued in the book called Lion Boy, The Chase.
