five little peppers and how they grew

This book is not about any vegetable. It is about the life of five children in the past. The five peppers live in a small brown house and survive on breade brown flour and eachothers everlasting love. When three of the five children get sick, and Polly ( the eldest girl) temporarily looses her eyesight, the family is woven even tighter together. On one particular day , Phronsie (the youngest) wanders after a circus man and is brought home by a young boy by the name of Jasper. Mrs. Pepper was so happy that she invited him to stay for tea, and even gave him the last of their raisins. The children become friends and Penny is invited to stay at his Posh residence to recieve an education.Soon the two families join and continue their happy occasions. I thought this book would be boring, but it was actually quite interesting.

Thank you everyone for your participation, in the blog.

This has been a wonderful summer for me, getting to know you through the blog.

For a first time, trying a blog, I had hoped we would have some good results but this was amazing.

We have learned a lot of lessons and have many good ideas for next year.

I could not let this opportunity pass without thanking you for your selections and your involvement.

P.S. Andrea and I also appreciate all the good ideas you have suggested for the teen department at Angus Glen. We will be trying to bring them forward in the fall.

Killing Britney - Sean Olin

Britney is a popular girl who has everything in life going for her. But when everybody around her becomes viciously murdered, she is scared for her life. This book is really interesting, and it pulls you in, although it is a little graphic. But it is exciting from start to finish, and has a surprise ending. Throughout the whole book, you'll be guessing who the murderer is, and will want to reccommend it to others when you are finished - that's how i got hold of the book. Definately, 5 stars!!!!!

Spoiled Rotten

In this book, Jessica's mom passed away, and now she lives with her dad. Once her dad marries Patti, it seems to Jessica that all he cares about is his new wife and spoiled daughter Amy. When the hiking trip Jessica planned to go on with her dad is replaced by a trip on Patti's boat, Jessica decides to take the hike alone. after she finds out that Amy followed her, she gets to know her a little better. But when a disaster happens, Jessica is willing to do anything to help save the life of Amy, for the second time.

step Up/snakes on the plane - Have you seen them/

Both these movies were advertised on the internet.

They did okay in their weekend box office receipts.

Did you see either of these movies? Snakes was aimed at teenage boys from what I read.

You tube is also advertising new shows for the big tv networks instead of using real audiences.

Being Bindy - Alyssa Brugman

Belinda, aka. Bindy, experiences the worst day of her life when her best friend Janey abandons her for a cooler scene. This book is about one teen's desperation to be admired, and another's life from hell when she becomes best friendless in an instant. Cute, interesting, and easy to read - I recommend it!!!

The Devil's Knight

This book was a romance novel. I thought that it was a very good book but it was very inappropriate at certain spots that I'd rather not talk about since I rate them for adults only. I like what it said on the front of the book, A vampire's bite made him immortal but a passion made him hungry forever. I think that those two lines worked out differently in the book than you would expect. It turns out that a Lord named Tristian DuMaine is the one that fell in love. The girl he fell in love with is called Siobhan and is the sister of the leader of a group of rogues that want to take over his castle and kill him. They didn't always love each other but they had to get married. It was part of the rogue leader's plan to kill Tristian but make it look like an accident. Overall this was a good book but I suggest anyone over 18 to read it. ;)

Ladder 49

although this isn't a book, it's a great movie to watch. (starring joaquin phoenix, and john trvolta) (2005). it is about a firefighter called jack morrison (played by joaquin phoenix). The movie opens with jack getting trap in a burning building while saving someone. As he lay in the rubble, waiting for help to arrive, the scene switches to the story of his life; how he transformed from a rookie firefighter to a skilled veteran, his family, and his courage and love for fighting fire/saving people.

through my point of view, i think it's a great tear-jerker. i don't usually cry when i watch movies, but i was bawling my eyes off when this one ended. normally, i just get teary-eyed when i watch sad movies (a.k.a: titanic, a walk to remember, the notebook). does anybody have recommendations for sad movies? (espscially ones that make you cry)

more ashlee simpson stuff (ugh)

ok, i checked out another magazine, star, i think and the cover (part of it) had a picture of ashlee and jessica, and it said: jess gained 20 pounds! (or is ashlee anorexic?)
and when i flipped to that page in the magazine, there was a before/ after of jessica and before/after of ashlee. jessica's before was her thin, bikini body, and after was in a white dress looking a lot more plumped. it said she went from 105 pounds to 125! and ashlee's before was her black wavy rocker hair with chains and plaid pants, to a skinny and bony faced girl in a low low cut dress with her dark blond long wavy hair. 130 to 106 pounds for ashlee. what?! why has ashlee changed so much? it's like the weight she lost went into her sister. there was more stuff too, but that was the main part. ashlee simpson actually used to be a good role model, but now she's so different! i think she anorexic, like the magazine said. jessica is a pretty good role model too, but not with everything. now, i think i would pick jess over ashlee. i dont think i'll change my mind!

in this novel, Elizabeth ( also known as sisi) is preparing for the wedding of her sister. Her sister (Nene) is planning to marry the emperor of Austria, and once they meet he would either approve of disaprove of their marriage. But Elizabeths quiet charm wins him over and they end up getting married. Before the marriage, everything was as they say "honkey dorey", portraits were being painted of her, she could continue her passion for riding horses as much as she desired, and attending balls. but after the marriage, she was pushed around by her step mother and became rebellious to the monarchy.
