Three Girls In the City CLose-up
This is a story about CK (Carolyn) who used to live in a small townlike village place and now moved to New York. Her best friend who CK thinks is quiet, shy, inccovent is coming to New York to visit. CK is all excited to be with MAndy thinking that Mandy is no different from the last time she has seen her, However, MAndy has changed she seems more bossy, more into fashion, and a lot different from what CK remembers. It seems like to CK that Mandy's new friend Katrina seems more important to MAndy than CK. How CK shows her feelings, how MAndy is with Ck's new friends, and how CK and Mandy work out ther differences is what the rest of the book is all about. This book was okay, 4/10 for me. SOme unnecessary stuff were in the book.

i've experienced something similar-not really, but i just need at least somebody to tell this to. i was best friends with this girl since like sk to grade 2, and then she moved. she came back last year and she was a totally different, with lots more attitude. im not one of her friends now, and she doesn't have many. to tell you the truth, she's done some pretty nasty things to me without caring how i feel. shes got attitude which she thinks make the popular girls like her, but it secretly makes them feel like she's more of a loser. she doesn't care about anyone, or anything except herself. no wonder she gets low grades! whenever i try to be nice to her, she backfires with something selfish and mean. she has these two girls she calls her "best friends", but everyone knows those are her "only" friends. how disrepectful she is right now makes me feel ashamed to have been her friend a few years back. she treats me (and everyone else- INCLUDING TEACHERS -)with such disrespect. she is very hesitant when talking to teachers, so she just isn't a liked one overall. it might seem like i'm really mean to be blabbing on about a girl i know, but i haven't even started telling you what kind of a person she is. really.
Mina and Jess,
I am sorry that this book brought back unpleasant memories for you both.
I know no one can undo the hurt caused by these other people.
Some day down the road, these other girls might wish they were still your friends.
Good friends are wonderful to have and i wish you both many good friends.
Catherine
p.S. I hope that did not sound too much like a mom. Every now and then i slip into mom mode.
