No more American Cartoons in Primetime, in China
To encourage the Japanese animation industry, all American cartoons like the Simpson's will not be shown on televison during the hours of 5-8.

i'm not such a big japanese animation fanatic, but a lot of friends LOVE it (shows like Bleach, Gundam Seed, etc.), i don't know why they like it so much though...anyways, besides animation, a lot of them like to listen to japanese music too. i don't find it that appealing, although the tune kinda sounds nice, but i prefer songs that i actually understand. all in all, i think japanese stuff are starting to become quite popular here.
QUESTION: if canada is a multicultural society, why are certain cultures, such as chinese and japanese getting sooo much more attention than some of it's older, european cultures, such as italian and french??? it just doesn't make sense to me why these cultures are suddenly so prominent, and others are just fading into the backround.
a lot of it probably has to do with the population nowadays. how many ltalians do you know? compared to to asians? maybe it's not like that in other countries, but it is here.
i don't like japnese cartoon thingies either- i watched 10 minutes of inuyasha once and i kinda thought it was gay... i just don't like them!

this was a news story from MSN.
I don't think it is reflective of here.
As to our multicultural society, think of the world soccer finals.
Every night on the news, they would feature a different neighbourhood representing, each team and country.
We are a multicultural city with certain nationalities living in certain areas.
I have a funny story. Each year, my kids in school would do their family tree.
One teacher my daughter had made her come home and ask us again.
The teacher said my husband and I could not be born here. My dad and mom could not be born here. My dad's dad could not be born here.
she said we would have to be native americans. We were all born here and we are not native people.
