Crank
Hey!
This book is by Ellen Hopkins. This is fiction, but Miss Hopkins' daughter has been touched this monster..crank, a drug. The story talks about a girl, Kristina. She had a perfect life...until she uses Crank. She goes visit her dad and meets Adam. Love at first sight. They make out in public a millions times. But the trip is over. Still on crank is Bree, the fearless, no more, is Kristina. Back home. Sadly, she leaves Adam. At home, crank gets her 2 boyfriends (drugs). One truly loves her. As Bree, a nickname, (fearless) she meets another boy, whose also does drugs. The 2nd one is to quick...it's too late.......
I thought this book teaches alot about too early boyfriends. It would be a better book if there wasn't so much detail.

Wow, Mina...You KNOW teens on drugs? Fred (an everyday annoyning guy) said he saw people doing crack in the forest near our school. I don't believe him.
Rachel,
First of all, credit for reading such a long book, especially in a different style, free verse.
Miss Hopkins using information from her daughter's experience, could help many others.
Drugs will always be a problem.
In every school, everyone gets to know who uses drugs and alcohol. don't kid yourself, the teachers and principals, know too.
There is a plaza near my son's high school. Everyone knows that the drug dealers sell behind the plaza during lunch. It is a fact of life. Kids who want, go and buy. Everyone else stays well clear. sad but true.
Back to the book, you are right, Rachel. This book seems to teach a few different lessons, in an indirect way.
