Violet Eyes- Nicole Luiken
I love this book. I just finished the sequel last night and really I cannot recommend a better book. Although it has enough real romance to keep a girl going, the society itself with advanced human races and live-in museums is so realistically depicted that you can wonder whether it is happening at this moment. Perhaps it is because it is by a female author (I've actually emailed her a few times- she's a wonderful advice giver as well) that you feel it on a very personal level. The story opens like any other novel- with the character but does not dive into the featured society. Instead it allows for a certain period of normality before the 'cookie crumbles'. It's always been my favourite (don't worry there aren't any hardcore romantic scenes that i should be warning about) and I hope someone else will give it a chance.
9/10 (my only 9 so far :))

Isabelle,
It is nice to know that some authors will take time to email you back. Many authors do have their own websites. This can be an invaluable resource for projects, etc.
I know one writer talked about being mentored by another famous writer.
thanks for sharing this information.
