The Undomestic Goddess- Sophie Kinsella
...Personally, this book was a huge disappointment. Don't get me wrong, the writing was decent and the order of events was fine. It just seemed unrealistic and as much as you know the choices the main character makes are probably for the best, you find yourself screaming 'NOOOO WHY DID YOU DO THAT?! IT WAS SUCH A GOOD OPPURTUNITY!!! *wails*' at every other moment. The romance was ....cute but not my style. Future CEO of law firm falls for gardener who was fooled by her pile of lies at the beginning? Just not ideal- there are too many future holes for the couple. Altogether, I'm probably being a bit harsh- there's nothing really wrong with book, it just didn't appeal to my personal taste in plots.

Isabelle,
Interesting perspective on this book.
I have not read the series but we cannot keep them on the shelves, in the adult collection.
I know it is a far stretch but it sounds a little like Lady Chatterley's lover in modern times, minus the ailing husband.
The other thing to consider is the power women yield in books. They are no longer weak and insecure. This main character is a CEO and the gardener has a lesser role.
Thanks for sharing.
