Teen Vogue - August 2006

Okay, so I know that this isn't a book, but it still makes for a very good read. Kate Bosworth is on the cover, and although she isn't my favourite actress, they had a good article to back up her cover. This particular issue deals alot about Back to School, which is kinda wierd to read about in July, but will make more sense in August. This one features some really cool articles, like FEEDING FRENZY, which outlines eating out in relation to diabetes, and FIGHT CLUB, which takes a look at bullying among teenage girls, which is on the rise. I personally love the set up of the magazine, because they always spotlight up-and-coming talent, with this issue featuring a model who was born here in Canada. Not only does it give great fashion tips, it also gives great ideas about new books and music. This is a great magazine to subscribe to, or pick up from the library.

Jen,

I love Vogue/Teen Vogue. Yes back to school issues seem a bit cruel, in July.

I was in Costco, the other day and they have winter coats which I find hard to deal with on a 40 degree day.

P.S> This is why I never have a new winter coat. I always think about it, in January when they have the summer stuff on the shelf. So silly of me to think I can buy a winter coat, in winter.

p.P.S. I did stop and look at these coats for just a minute.

Back to Teen Vogue, they do have a great selection of articles but what I like about this magazine is that it does not talk down to teens or tell them things to do like a parent would.

Catherine
