This diary like novel is about a girl named Nzingha, who is the warrior queen of matamba. This is an African tribe. Corrupt spies are trying to take over their tiny village and massive land, and at the same time, the Portugese are wrongfully getting slaves to tend their crops until death. nzingha is the only one who her father can trust to complete her job as a messenger, then get married.
