How I Spent My Last Night On Earth - Todd Strasser

When a surprise meteor is said to destroy the earth, people start going into a frenzy, and acting differently. At school, all the different social groups are mingling, and kids are now challenging their teachers. Most skip school, and the surfers are hanging out on the beach trying to catch the wave that will be caused by the meteor, and ultimately destroy the earth. Allegra and her friends now spill their darkest secrets to each other, and change their lives forever. This story is humourous, and it is really funny to see how differently people act when the supposed end of the world is upon them.

Yes, i think that the reactions are probable, although it is hard to know for sure, seeing as we have never been put in a situation where the world is about to end. I think that the reactions are really funny, and i can see them happening. People usually have a list of things they want to do before they die, and this was the authour's way of showing how people would deal with a situation where this is happening very rapidly and unexpectedly.

Isabelle and Jen:

Remember the blackout? I know the world was not ending but it was very frightening. My husband could not believe the way people were running around trying to get gas, coffee and money. People were working together but they still were scared.

I was in the hospital lately, visiting someone. They called code red which from the schools I know means intruder. I was scared. In the end, it was a fire. This still left me scared especially when they told us all to return to the room with no way out.

We never know how we will react in real life but as Isabelle says, sometimes fiction over does the reactions.

WOW!!
What a rating you gave, but I must say the books by Todd Strasser are good. I didn't read this, but I read Can't Get There From Here.(also written by him) It was a good book.
