The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants

Last summer as school came to a close I was in the mood for an amazing chick flick and out just then was The Sisterhood of Travelling Pants; a movie based on the novel by Ann Brashares.

A year later I decided based upon hearing that the book was much better than the movie, to read the book. For starters, if you're A. a girl and B. very cheesy, you'll love this book. However, if you're assuming that the movie and the book are the same, you're wrong; in today's society, Hollywood changes every book to suit the medium of film - which can be both a good and bad thing but that's for you to judge. I personally prefered the

The book begins with an introduction from narrator Carmen ___last name___; a teen living in ______, U.S.A.. Summer break has just begun and for the first time since they were born, Carmen's friends Lena, Bridget and Tibby are not going to be spending it together. Lena will be off in Greece; Bridget playing soccer in Mexico; Carmen in South Carolina with her dad; and Tibby at home working in a convenience store.

Yes, I was intrigued by the movie but mostly because of Rory, from Gilmore Girls. I love that show.

The premise of the movie is really neat but like you say, Hollywood changes so many movies to fit what the public wants. They are not always true to the book.

Someone has told me the same thing about the Da Vinci Code. This is especially strange since Hollywood was counting on all the book readers to go tp the movie.

I also found the same thing about the Cider House Rules which I thought was not authentic to the book.

Ella Enchanted was also another disappointment.
