The Lottery by Beth Goobie
There is a book by Beth Goobie called the Lottery. When I read the book, I was taken back to think that students could be so mean. The premise of the book is that a girl is chosen by a group like a secret society and she is their slave for the year.
I know that this is a work of fiction but unfortuantely, it rang true. Some of the stuff the girl had to do was all too real.
Has anyone else read this book? Does this really happen or is the writer way off base?

This makes me feel better. Unfortunately, I think there will always be kids who are rude to each other and even to teachers.
Each school is its' own community and together, everyone makes it what it is.
